XIV World Forestry Congress - 7-11 september 2015

The XIV World Forestry Congress, hosted by the Republic of South Africa, will bring together the global forestry community to review and analyse the key issues and to share ways of addressing them.

The Congress – the first to be held in Africa - is inclusive of people from all countries, regions and sectors, whether they belong to a government organization, NGO, private company, scientific or professional body, a forestry society, or simply have a personal interest in attending.

The broad participation and inclusive discussion on forestry issues will facilitate their mainstreaming in global agendas on sustainable development as well as building new partnerships.

The Congress programme will be professionally and culturally rewarding, with a variety of sessions, events and dialogue, to ensure that all participants are engaged in defining a vision and strategies for the sustainable future of forests and forestry.

XIVe congrès forestier mondial du 7 au 11 septembre 2015

Le XIV^e Congrès forestier mondial hébergé par la République d’Afrique du Sud, à Durban, réunira la communauté mondiale des forestiers pour passer en revue et analyser des questions clés et partager les moyens de les affronter.

Le congrès – le premier à avoir lieu en Afrique – comprend des personnes de tous les pays, régions et secteurs, qu’elles appartiennent à une organisation gouvernementale, à une ONG, à une société privée, à un organisme scientifique ou spécialisé, à une entreprise forestière, ou simplement des individus qui ont un intérêt personnel à assister.

La large participation et les débats inclusifs sur des questions forestières faciliteront leur intégration dans les programmes mondiaux sur le développement durable ainsi que la constitution de nouveaux partenariats.

Le programme du congrès sera enrichissant tant au plan professionnel que culturel, avec une variété de sessions, d’événements et de dialogues, pour assurer que tous les participants prennent part à la définition d’une vision et de stratégies pour l’avenir durable des forêts et du secteur forestier.
